In order to study the bearing mechanism of pile foundations in unsaturated expansive soil, a full-scale experimental study on bearing capacity of uplift piles was carried out in the expansive soil area of Nanyang, China. Based on the field test, the evolution law of swelling deformation of foundation and the neutral point (section with zero relative pile-soil displacement) of pile during immersion were analyzed, and the weakening characteristics of the uplift bearing capacity of pile foundation after humidification were revealed by the axial force of pile, the ultimate friction resistance o

To select the economical and rational structural form for Dalian Suoyuwan Football Stadium, comparative analysis of three schemes was conducted:the double-layer orthogonal wheel-spoke cable structure, the upper-layer crossed wheel-spoke cable structure, and the double-layer crossed wheel-spoke cable structure. The results reveal that the upper-layer crossed wheel-spoke cable structure demonstrates better economical and mechanical advantages, which makes it the final structural system adopted for Dalian Suoyuwan Football Stadium. To investigate the feasibility of the tensioning construction

To enhance the seismic performance of cold-formed thin-walled steel (CTS) composite wall filled with foam concrete, a novel type of lightweight concrete-filled CTS shear wall is proposed in this paper. The wall comprises rectangular CTS end studs filled with self-compacting lightweight concrete (SLC), high-strength foam concrete-filled CTS inner walls, and double-layer wall panels. Four full-scale specimens of lightweight concrete-filled CTS shear wall were subjected to reversed cyclic load. The influences of reinforced end stud, double interior stud and stud web openings on the seismic beh

A novel multi-story prefabricated shear wall structure was investigated, in which reinforcement anchor rings or steel wire rope sleeve was used for the vertical joint connection, while the vertical rebar was connected by noncontact lapping using a single row of larger diameter rebar. To investigate the feasibility and the seismic behavior of the wall, quasi-static experiments were conducted on a total of eight prefabricated shear wall specimens and one cast-in-situ shear wall, and the failure mode, full-range behavior and influence pattern of key parameters were analyzed. The results show t

In view of the problems existed in the seismic strengthening and reconstruction project of an existing reinforced concrete frame structure, a method using attached prefabricated self-centering members to strengthen the reinforced concrete frames is proposed. That is, the existing frame beams and columns are strengthened by enlarging section method, and prefabricated beam members are installed side by side along the frame beams. Unbonded prestressed tendons are installed throughout the length of the prefabricated beams and anchored to the outer side of the frame columns. Energy dissipating s
